A Love Supreme

I am half awake at my computer desk reading my email drinking a C-Boost Tropical Fruit Smoothie and my daughter, Maya opens the door and walks up to me and says, “Dahh-dee.” I look down and somehow she has acquired my CD of John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme.

So I put the disc into my computer and she picks up a pen and starts to draw. Elvin Jones’ drums and Jimmy Garrison’s bass kick in and she’s drawing… McCoy Tyner’s piano lays in there, she’s drawing. Wham! John Coltrane comes in with his tenor sax and she stops what she is doing and looks at me and smiles.

Pure love is supreme, a love supreme, a love supreme…
