Scarlett Johansson’s cover of Tom Waits’ “Falling Down”
Salman Rushdie gets a cameo. What’s with Scarlett and the old dudes? Woody Allen films, Bob Dylan video, covering Tom Waits and Salman Rushdie whispering in her ear?

My MLB American League All Star Ballot
Personally, I think it’s too early in the season to be voting for the All Star Game this year, but the ballots are open so I placed my first vote (of course I’ll vote again and often).
When I compared players at each position I sorted them by RBI as I find that it is the most important stat in baseball. Obviously, I didn’t pick just the RBI leaders, I took other stats in consideration too.

Cuz there’s no MTV anymore…
-
Frightened Rabbit - “Head Roll Off”
-
Frank Black (with Moris Tepper) - “I Burn Today”
-
Vetiver - “Been So Long”
-
Sufjan Stevens - “The Lakes of Canada”
The Frightened Rabbit video is probably the best song partially about atheism I’ve heard since XTC’s “Dear God.” Actually, I never really cared for that XTC song. It was too preachy… this song is better.
My buddy Josh bought Frank Black’s Teenager of the Year, and I can’t believe that was 14 years ago when it came out. Anyway, I told him how John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants directed the video for “Los Angeles” and upon searching for that video, I found this one which would have been better if it included a hovercraft like the “Los Angeles” video did.
I scored the forthcoming Vetiver record of cover tunes a little early and was looking through some of their videos and found this gem featuring Adem, Vashti Bunyan and Juana Molina helping out.
La Blogotheque and The Take-Away Shows is probably my favorite web site ever, and I found this Sufjan performance and thought it was good.

Welcome to the world
Luke Marceau Renaud was born at 5:02pm (EST) and weighed 6lbs., 6oz and is 19.5 inches tall.
I have posted tons of iPhone photos of the little wiggler on Flickr. Take a look at the sidebar. I will post better shots with my camera tonight.
Christie did great and is looking good.
Boy is he alert! As soon as they pulled his head out, he was looking around. FYI: That was very surreal to see a baby head poking out if Christie’s abdomen.
Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers - keep them coming! Cigars are on their way!
